Discover the vibrant world of Mariachi with Veronica Robles! Veronica Robles is a Mariachi singer, musician and dancer from Mexico City, who has become a cultural icon in the New England area. She and her band will perform not only traditional mariachi songs, but music from other Latin American countries, as well as her own compositions.

Originating in the rural areas of western Mexico, mariachi is a traditional musical genre deeply rooted in the cultural fabric of Mexico. It embodies the heart, soul, and history of this proud nation – incorporating strains from indigenous music, the classical music of Spain, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. With its distinctive blend of brass, strings, and vocals, this unifying art form has become synonymous with both celebration and poignant moments. From lively fiestas to intimate serenades under moonlit skies, mariachi is an integral part of life’s most cherished moments.

As a singer, Veronica has released eight albums and has performed at venues such as The Memorial Hatch Shell and Fenway Park, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, The Dallas Convention Center, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, among others. She is a Neighborhood Salon Luminary at the Gardner Museum, and she is a Celebrity Series of Boston Neighborhood Arts program artist.

“Veronica and her fellow [performers] are great artists. They play beautifully.” — Gary Dunning, president and executive director of the Celebrity Series of Boston.

Veronica Robles is also the Co-founder and Director of the Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC), which supports cultural programming and economic growth in East Boston, and has received countless awards and recognitions. She was recently named by Univision Network as one of the top 10 most influential Latinos nationwide for her work as co-founder and director of the VROCC. In 2021, the Institute of Non-Profit Practice presented her with the Changemakers Award.  And in November 2019 she received the Ohtli Award – one of the highest and most prestigious distinctions given by the Government of Mexico. This award honors people who have dedicated most of their lives and careers to “blazing a trail” abroad for younger generations of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans as they strive to achieve their dreams. Ohtli is a Nahuatl word that means “pathway.”

Veronica Robles is a woman of courage and principles; as a cancer survivor she lives her life to the fullest, filled with joy, passion, and love. Her work honors the memory of her only daughter who passed away as a teenager.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of mariachi or a curious newcomer, this centuries-old traditional music will captivate your senses and transport you to a world filled with passion, joy, and profound artistry.
